where's the camera when you need one?

This morning I woke up before 7am. Think it might have been the change in the traffic patterns, it being the first real day back from the holidays. But, oh, what a beautiful morning.

The sun was just barely up. The sky was a true deep blue mixed with puff of cotton candy pink. The mountains in the distance were almost purple. The lights across the water were still on. Everything seemed to have the gleem of pearls. And despite the traffic, there was a hush over the land and water.

As I looked across the Bay I was again in awe of this beauty that sits just outside my window. As I looked down on the commuters, I felt for them. But oh so badly wanted to be among them, heading back to work* on this first week of the year. Oh, how I long for that day.

*Talk about Freudian slips -- I accidently typed "worth" instead of "work."
