purging

sweet layers

It always amazes me how much stuff one (or two) can accumulate. Clearly we lost the battle of the mail. You know you are headed for disaster when you live in a thirty-story building, and the mail carrier knows you by name.

It does feel good to go through the piles and start to see progress. Of course, with every pile it seems yet another emerges. Somehow it feels like we have broken some law of physics -- all of this stuff couldn't possibly fit in just slightly under 800 square feet! But somehow we did it. And slowly, but surely we will undo it, and start with a new tabla rosa.

My goal at our next home is to prove my current hypothesis: that if we have adequate space and proper places to put things, this won't happen again. That our next move will be simple. There will be minimal purging, and the process will be easy as pie.
