celebrate "secret holiday gift-giving robot day"

It's Secret Santa time again! This will be my third year participating and I am looking forward to it. I have met some really great people, plus I just really love the whole idea behind this "gift exchange scheme". To date, over 1500 presents have been exchanged.

To play along all you need are the following:

An Amazon.com wish list with at least one item on it $15 or less
(Santa doesn't want you to get too greedy)*
A personal website (e.g. blog, on-line journal, etc)**
A brief description of yourself (help Santa pick the right gift for you as well as get to know you a little better)

When you have all of that, go here and follow the instructions.

Names get exchanged on December 10, so act fast.

Remember this is a gift exchange scheme! So if you want to play be sure you will be around a computer around that time to
ensure your Secret Santa's gift arrives on time.

*If you don't have an Amazon.com wish list, creating one is very simple. Just go to Amazon.com and if you are a member, log in (chance are if you are, you already automatically are). Then find an item you would like (book, CD, DVD, etc). On the right side of the page you should see a box called "add to wish list". Just click on it, and presto, it is on your list. Continue as you see fit. FYI -- Amazon now lets users prioritize wish lists so that you can rank items on your list -- good to know if you go a bit overboard.

If you don't have an account with Amazon.com, simply go to Amazon.com create one, and follow the above.

**If you don't have a personal website, you may want to check out blogger or livejournal to get started.
