Sallie has tagged me to complete this little meme about books:
The Book Challenge {a Meme}
Total Number of Books I Own:
Hundreds. I lost track of how many boxes of books we unpacked. I remember sorting through and trying to figure out what to take with us to Chicago, and which to leave behind in storage. Thankfully we finally did get bookshelves and most are unpacked. They are even slightly arranged by color.
The last Book I Bought:
It was actually a two for one special, so when I ordered America's Test Kitchen Companion for this coming year, I got the last year's guild for free. I love Chris Kimball and his team. They do their research.
Last Book I Read:
Short story collection called Cold Feet. One of the stories is by Pamela Ribon. It is a fun light read. We will be discussing it at our last book club of the year.
Five Books That Mean A lot to Me:
Alice in Wonderland/Throught the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. I have so many different copies of this book (different art, differt languages). There is just so much hidden meaning in it. So many great quotes too. It was a childhood favorite because of the Alice connection (my sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother...are all named Alice).
Love in the Time of Cholera by Garbriel Garcia Marquez. This one just one of those books that found me at the right time. I was absolutely mesmorized by it.
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Another book where the timing was just right. There is something that made me feel for the main character in ways I can't explain. It is a modern day "Our Town".
The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. Morning pages do make a difference in my day. I have been doing them for several years now.
Anything by Daniel Pinkwater. He writes about everything from giant chickens to life at prep school. His characters are real, yet funny. He also writes non-fiction (e.g., Super Puppy). He has lived in Hoboken, Chicago and Los Angeles.

Thank-YOU Chris for doing that Meme. You are a very special lady. It helps to know a person, by seeing what they read and value. Great titles...some I have not read and so I will. :-}
