Not For Tourists

it is what it says it is

In between events at the HOW Design Conference B and I made it over to the Printer's Row Book Fair. It touts itself as the largest book fair in the midwest, and being the book lovers that we are, there is no way we could miss this one. They had authors events ranging from big names like Nick Hornby to people only the few an far between have heard of. There were two blocks of mostly book sellers and publishers, and tucked off to the side were the folks from NFT Guides.

I must say that Not For Tourists Chicago Guide really helped in the transition to Chicago this last year. I probably carried it in my purse for the first six months whenever I left the house. It has allowed to figure out everything from how to successfully get on the Brown Line at Lake and go to the Library (without going to Kimball), to picking downtown as my neighborhood. It was a no brainer that every partner coming to the GSB would benefit from this book.

There were promotional postcards on the table. The one I got read on the back:

Dear Rufus,

If you're reading This, then you already know. I've left you. I took the car, the furniture, and the NFT.

EVERYTHING.

I'm at the Atlasta Motel. But don't you dare come looking for me.

Gretchen

This so expesses the attitude of NFT perfectly.
