My friend, Ellen, tagged me a few days ago. Here is my task:
List ten songs that you are currently digging ... it doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words, or even if they're no good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions, the artists, and the ten songs in your blog. Then tag five other people to see what they're listening.
in no particular order:
1. Let Go, Frou Frou: ...beauty in the breakdown. Not sure what it means, but it sounds good. Also I have been a fan of Imogen Heap (one half of Frou Frou) and even still have the copy of I Megaphone I bought when it came out. This is from the Shrek 2 Soundtrack.
2. The Willy Wonka Theme, Danny Elfman: This is just a fun song. Plus I am a big Danny Elfman (Oingo Boing) fan. I like it so much I made it my cell phone's ring tone. So when I hear it, it usually indicates that B is on his way home from work. From The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Soundtrack
3: 100 Years, Five For Fighting: This song makes me cry. Maybe it is just that my sister was disowned at 15 and died at 33. It is a reminder we don't all get 100 years. Wish we did sometimes.
4. Honey & the Moon, Joseph Arthur: This song will always remind me of heading south on I-5 over the pass. Buzzed on black tea lemonade from Starbucks, knowing we are almost there. All we have to do is get the civic up that hill.
5. DTLA, Gary Jules : It stands for Downtown, Los Angeles. Maybe I am just a bit homesick. Or maybe I just miss driving on a real freeway in a place where the locals don't get their licenses out of Cracker Jack box. From Hear Music Volume 10: Reveal
6. Feeling Good, Nina Simone: Oh wow! What can I say? This is off the second Six Feet Under Soundtrack.
7. American Girls, the bluegrass version: I picked up Pickin on the Counting Crows (A Bluegrass Tribute) at one of those BMG sales (with shipping the CD was $8). It is interesting. All instrumental.
8. Direction, Interpol: Also from the second Six Feet Under Soundtrack. Really the whole soundtrack is pretty great.
9. They, Jem: I heard this several times but remember hearing it while waiting to see a movie. It was another I picked up for $8 at BMG. I just like it.
10. Bears, Lyle Lovett: It will make you want to take a bear to lunch. Well, maybe a cow. This is from Mile Marker 343, another Hear Music collection.
Hope you enjoyed that. Once again, if you read this far, consider yourself tagged -- I don't like to play favorites.
ps. If you like music, you may consider doing a CD Swap. I just did this one put together by Jen.
