finding a routine
It often seems like by the time the quarter ends I finally remember when B has class and review sessions, meetings with his groups, etc. It takes several weeks to figure it out, and then finals are here and it is time to start over again.
This quarter seems to be unique in that B has no evening classes. I actually liked evening classes, as long as they weren't on Friday and/or he had them no more than two nights a week. Night classes means having dinner after 9pm, and I wasn't such a big fan of that. Spring quarter that might not be as bad, once daylight savings goes into effect and it gets darker later. But that probably won't be as big an issue this time around.
To keep things really simple all of B's classes start at 1:30pm. Of course some mornings he will have review sessions. And it looks like Wednesdays he will meet with his group from career services - essentially a small group of other second year students who still don't have job offers.
Working from home is great, but it can be hard when B is around. He has become a big fan of Pod Casts, and likes to listen to them as he studies. I can listen to music as I work, but it has become harder for me to concentrate if someone else is talking non-stop. It doesn't help that many of the Pod Casts are interesting. One in fact was an interview of Amy Tan talking about her book, The Opposite of Fate. I think this was originally broadcast on NPR.
I also don't like to do things like vacuum or run the dishwasher while he is working as it is just far too noisy. It can be hard figuring out when he will and won't be home so I can plan accordingly.
This was pretty boring. Perhaps I shouldn't try posting every day.
