mark your calendars
Just a reminder. B's birthday is officially a week away. Our birthdays are always on the same day of the week. This year it's Thursday. Here's a funny tidbit, but my mother, father, sister, and I also had our birthdays on the same day of the week, although we weren't born on the same day of the week. It just somehow worked out like that.
It made it easy to know what day of the week a particular day was on. At least for September, June, May, and March. Every once in a while I would impress someone with this little parlor trick.
Still have no idea what to do for B's birthday. It is on the tail end of midterms, so that is nice. The quarter system really doesn't have a lull. But if it did, it probably would be the weekend after midterms. It is still a bit early to be hammering out a final project, and unless you are taking some class that really should count as two, as it has ungodly amounts of homework, chances are good the TA's will be too busy grading the midterm exams to want to tack on an extra set of homework. Of course this is the GSB, so you never can be sure, but still.
I know what he would really like is his dream job. I suspect he is about as frustrated in limbo as I am, perhaps even more so. The only difference is that he has the added burden of actually landing said job. I still maintain though that it is harder sitting on the sidelines, having no control in the whole process. I linger between wanting to crawl in a box and hit until its over, and wanting to pull every hair on my body out. Fun times.
Actually part of me is starting to realize that once a decision is made, things are really going to start to get crazy. Then we have to decide on a place to live, coordinating the move, changing our address (yet again), and saying goodbye (again). Oh what an emotional roller coaster ride we are headed for. The fun just never ends.
