oh so close

And so we enter week four. Time is racing by. We are already thinking about graduation announcements and feel like we are behind. Graduation is now officially less than two months away!!

This weekend is Admit Weekend 2. Probably the last I will participate in, which in many ways is bittersweet. It can be a lot of work, but it certainly has its rewards too.

I think this week's theme will be purging. It truly is key to any successful move. It is amazing how much stuff you can accumulate in a year's time. For us, we get piles and piles of mail. We also order many items off the Internet (everything from books to clothing to spices), which result in boxes, packing material and usually an extra catalog thrown in for good measure.

We got a notice last week in our mail about the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive. This year is it Saturday, May 13th. It truly couldn't be any easier (if you live in the US at any rate). You simply leave non-perishable food items by the mailbox, and your postal carrier will collect it. All donations are distributed to local food banks and pantries. As moving food long distance is not a good idea, this is a perfect way to clean out my pantry. We made a few mistakes at Costco, and am sure we are never going to finish that six pack of beans we bought, along with several other goodies.

It is also beyond time to clean out the bedroom closets again. As it looks like spring and warmer weather will stick around, I think I can safely put away the sweaters and other winter clothes. I also need to get rid of those items that I don't wear. Wonder if I can get things done by Sunday and drop them off at Holy Name Cathedral. They are just north of downtown at State and Superior. Must get clearing.
