heading south
I feel like a migratory bird. Today we hit loaded up the car and hit the road again. We are back in L.A.
It always feel like we are camping when we arrive. This time even the water was shut off. We usually just need to switch on the hot water heater plus turn on the fridge.
Since B didn't know where the water switch was he had to text his parents for help. They ended up calling here, and as I was closer to the phone, I answered it. The call went something like this:
Me: Hello.
B's Dad: Uh, hello. Oh. Is this C? Is B there?
Me: Hold on.
Nice.
To be fair they were off on a trip somewhere. And I really didn't have anything to say.
Even better, when B got on the phone his Mom was already on the line. I suspect she made her husband call just in case the above happened.
B figured out how to get the water on, but cut his hand in the process. Also the blue ice pack thing we had been using leaked despite that I had it in a baggie. Blue dye got all over the place, including my shirt, which is how we discovered there was no water.
And it looks like my computer is that only one that can access the neighbor's WIFI. I have a feeling this is not going to be a fun trip.
In other news, we will now get our mail once a week. We set up "forwarding service" with the people who run the UPS Store where our box is located.
I am not saying I want to be a bird or anything. I just don't think they have to deal with such things.
