loving and marriage
"Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love!" --Anne Frank
Today is Loving Day. On this day in 1967, the Supreme Court made interracial marriage legal in the entire United States. The day is (aptly) named for Mildred and Richard Loving. The couple was jailed for the crime of being married to each other without having the same color skin. You can read more here.
On Tuesday, it will be legal for couples of the same sex to wed in California. New forms are being printed that are gender neutral. Marriage licenses will no longer say "bride" and "groom".

Today is also the birthday of Anne Frank. It was on her 13th birthday that she received her diary which has because famous across the world. Had she lived, she would have been 79 years old.
